Our little Princess has finally come! She was born Saturday Oct. 10, 2009 at 10:03 am. She was 8lbs. 3oz. and 20 inches long. I am so proud of Robyn and all that she had to go through to get Malia here. I can't believe how much I love this little girl! She already has me wrapped around her little finger. I just hope she always asks her mom for stuff, because I don't know how I will ever be able to tell her no.
The labor went well and both baby and mother are doing well. We are both so excited to have her here and to have a little family.
It is quite funny because ever since I knew that Iowa was playing Michigan on Oct. 10 I had been telling Robyn that she could not have the baby on that day! Any day but the Michigan game day! So, I got just what I was asking for, she went into labor early saturday morning the day of the big game! My dad and I already had our tickets to the game and it looked as though we weren't going to make it. Well little Malia is a HAWKEYE fan too and so she came plenty early so that she could watch the game. Dad and I made the short walk across the street from the Hospital to Kinnick Stadium while Robyn, Malia, and my mom stayed to watch the game on T.V. The Hawkeyes pulled out the victory after an awesome game. Needless to say it was an AMAZING day!!

Oh yea, you're home. Enjoy that sweet little baby. And I know you'll hear it a lot, but you are going to be so tired the next few weeks, so sleep when she does. Trust me, your sleep will never be the same as it was before kids :) We love all three of you so much and can't wait to see you next month. She's lucky to have such great grandparents and I'm glad they are there to help you out. Wish I could be there. Love you lots!

We are so glad that everything worked out for you guys! Malia is beautiful. We were laughing so hard when we found out that you were in labor on the big day of the game. Cody wanted to call Mitch up and give him a hard time. Ask him if he's still going to the game and if he's not he'll sacrifice and go with Lonnie to the game! He didn't because we know how crazy things get at the hospital. But we're going to bring you guys dinner sometime. We'll wait until grandparents leave and then give you guys a call. Take it easy and get a lot of sleep!

Oh, that sweet, sweet baby! She looks so precious. I wish so bad that I could hold her and kiss on her. Give her lots of kisses from her aunt Gretchen!! Robyn...I hope you are feeling good! If you're anything like me, you're taking pictures everyday, so we need some updates! They change way too quickly, so you better document! So happy for you guys - it's the best, isn't it?
I love how you said her 'little friend Avery". One day I promise she will catch up sooner than you think. She is so cut and enjoy her falling asleep on you. I loved that as a newborn!
